Most Letfly group tours to Agra, Delhi, Manali and Rajasthan start with a long train journey from Calicut. For many travellers, it becomes a highlight of the trip: stories, songs, card games and the whole of India rolling past the window.
What to pack in your train bag
Keep one small bag within reach so you don’t have to open your main luggage:
- ID proof: carry the original ID used for booking the ticket.
- Water bottle and snacks: food on the train isn’t part of the package, so bring your favourites.
- Power bank and cables: charging points can be limited.
- Light blanket or shawl: AC coaches get cold at night.
- Basic medicines: motion-sickness tablets, pain relief and any personal prescriptions.
- Wet wipes, sanitiser and a small towel.
- Earplugs and an eye mask for a better night’s sleep.
Pack for where you’re going
Your destination sets the rest of your packing list:
- Himachal (Manali, Kasol): warm layers, a jacket, gloves and good walking shoes for the Grahan trek.
- Rajasthan (Jaipur, Jaisalmer): breathable cotton for the day, a warm layer for desert nights, sunglasses and a scarf.
- Agra and Delhi: comfortable shoes (there’s a lot of walking), plus a cap and sunscreen.
Make the journey fun
- Download movies and playlists before you leave; network coverage comes and goes.
- Bring a deck of cards or a travel game for the group.
- Keep your phone camera ready as Kerala’s greenery gives way to rivers, farmland and the plains of the north.
